Prophetic 1969 quote from current pope

"The church will become small and will have to start afresh more or less from the beginning. She will no longer be able to inhabit many of the edifices she built in prosperity. As the number of her adherents diminishes . . . she will lose many of her social privileges."

Cardinal J. Ratzinger (1969),
-- republished in Faith and the Future(2009)

No need to get the vapors over this stuff. Fr Ratzinger is merely lip-syncing his colleague, co-author, and fellow liberal strategist on the V2 catwalk, Karl Rahner. Read Rahner's "Mission and Grace": same old same old.

Like all good nouvelle bastion razers, Young Ratzinger is only making come-hither eyes at the Enthusiasts of our Christian uber-Church.

I suppose "ambiguity" is the key to understanding any Nouvelle theolgian. I recall earlier comments you have made about statements by the former Ratzinger and the contemporary Holy Father. There is certainly a confusing pattern.
